How you explain to the children what is going to happen, will primarily depend on the age of the children.
It’s important to tell the children together where possible, this provides the opportunity for the children to ask questions. It also demonstrates whilst you maybe separating, you are still united when it comes to them.
There are a number of books available for you to share with your children and this can help children to understand how things will be moving forward.
